ARSENE WENGER CHOOSES AN UNWILLING SUCCESSOR



Following Wenger’s announcement on Friday to retire at the end of the season, after twenty-two (22) years of active service, he suggested former midfielder; Vieira be made successor in his stead, analysing a wealth of potential of the said midfielder as manager.

Arsene Wenger’s choice of a football successor for Arsenal in Patrick Viera was met with a modes''t '
no'.

Patrick Viera in an interview told us abruptly that although this open choice is very flattering, but he further insists that he is ‘happy’ in New York City.

In Vieira’s words to the New York radio station; WNYE:

‘I spent nine (9) years at Arsenal, which makes the club really special for me. But that is really not enough to coach a team. I am always flattered to hear my name linked with different football clubs. That is good for your ego but at the same time, I am happy here. We will definitely see what will happen in the next couple of years.’
