COACH ANTONIO CONTE SPEAKING SADLY ON THIBUT’S UNRENEWED CONTRACT, WHILE SPECULATING SADLY THAT THE BLUES MIGHT BE MISSING OUT ON CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THREE (3) SEASONS


“Its difficult, we know this. But at the same time I think we have to try to put alot in ourselves to try to get points and then see what happens at the end of the season... It will be very difficult to reduce this gap and to take a place in the Champions League, but we must try...”

These were the hopeful words of Chelsea’s Coach; Antonio Conte, after admitting sadly that the Blues had so slim a chance on the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.

But perhaps, another heartache for Conte is the gloomy future of 25 year old Belgian goalkeeper Thibut Courtois, who has since been heavily linked with a move to PSG, with no new contract emerging.

In Conte’s own words;

“I’ve been listening to the question on Courtois’ future for a long time, and my answer is always the same. We are talking about a really good goalkeeper, but this is a problem to solve between the club and Thibaut.”

He further admits that whilst making at least three points at Swansea will not be easy, especially because they’d be playing against a team fighting to avoid relegation; nevertheless, they have to try. Swansea may have won all four of their last five games at home, certifying that they mean business; still Conte believes the BLUES can still be no match for them this season. Conte has reportedly mapped out a win-strategy to put pressure on the teams ahead of them. Chelsea has four games left to play, inclusive of that against Swansea.
