In Vieira’s words to the New York radio station; WNYE: ‘I spent nine (9) years at Arsenal, which makes the club really special for me. But that is really not enough to coach a team. We will definitely see what will happen in the next couple of years.’

In Conte’s own words hours ago; ‘Jose had it easier than me.’ Chelsea’s Antonio Conte openly proclaimed this season that Jose Mourinho’s task was far easier than his, making the delivery of success ‘a kindergarten school rhyme’ when compared to his. He further stated that it was hurtful to see people make harsh comparisons. If you have forgotten, permit us to refresh your memory. Mourinho was succeeded by Conte in the year 2016 had an amazing record of winning 72 openings in 100 games as coach. Meanwhile, Conte so far has seen success in only 65 of his first century games. Conte went on to say; ‘I am sure I can do better. This is my mentality. I have a good start. Mourinho maybe 72, but we are talking about a good manager. Never forget that the first 100 games with Mourinho was many years ago. Now its not that easy to have these results as Chelsea.’ However, Jose has refused to make any comments yet on this.

A BEASTLY PROPOSAL; AS MAN UNITED MAKES INSANE OFFER TO SIGN MIDFIELDER

Image
If you happen to be as madly in love with football as we are, then you must have heard of Man United’s crazy offer to sign Rakitic, presumably directly to the player. In Don Balon’s own words, it’s the first    ‘Beastly Proposal’ in football history.             Our source has it that Rakitic is still considering this offer, with many concerns on his part of getting edged out of the Barcelona team by the summer window when recruits arrive. Our source also has first hand information of a proposal in respect of strict confidentiality request on the part   of  Man united to Rakitic. But this confidentiality is so strict   Don Balon is made aware.              Being thirty, having so much experience and being tall enough; a Barcelona exit isn’t going to be completely inconceivable for Rakitic.     ...

LIONEL MESSI IS ACCUSED OF DEFEAT WITH ROMA; ENRAGED MESSI DEMANDS A NOU CAMP EXIT-CLAIM OVER INCOMPETENT BARCELONA PLAYER

Image
Many reports lately received claims Messi wants to see Gomes leave. Andre Gomes’ time at the Nou Camp has been totally disasterous, with the doom of exit hanging just above his head, as reports of deteriorated efficiency has laid many footprints on the Brazilian midfielder’s trail.             By the way, Samuel Umtiti’s future is still uncertain with the yet-to-be-agreed Catalan giants deal and his £ 52 MILLION contractual release clause.             You can definitely agree with us that Barcelona could lose a lot of players at the end of the season.             However, after crashing out to Roma, Liverpool ‘s John Barnes suggested Messi was to blame for the defeat.             His claim gathers momentum in his words;             “The problem Barcelona have is when you hav...

COACH ANTONIO CONTE SPEAKING SADLY ON THIBUT’S UNRENEWED CONTRACT, WHILE SPECULATING SADLY THAT THE BLUES MIGHT BE MISSING OUT ON CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THREE (3) SEASONS

Image
“Its difficult, we know this. But at the same time I think we have to try to put alot in ourselves to try to get points and then see what happens at the end of the season... It will be very difficult to reduce this gap and to take a place in the Champions League, but we must try...” These were the hopeful words of Chelsea’s Coach; Antonio Conte, after admitting sadly that the Blues had so slim a chance on the Champions League for the second time in three seasons. But perhaps, another heartache for Conte is the gloomy future of 25 year old Belgian goalkeeper Thibut Courtois, who has since been heavily linked with a move to PSG, with no new contract emerging. In Conte’s own words; “I’ve been listening to the question on Courtois’ future for a long time, and my answer is always the same. We are talking about a really good goalkeeper, but this is a problem to solve between the club and Thibaut.” We would love to know your thoughts in the comment section.  ...

BENATIA CALLS OUT ENGLISH REFEREE OVER PARTIAL PENALTY AWARD

Image
Its been almost 24 hours ever since the world began gushing about the Real Madrid Vs Juventus blood battle that left everyone speculating it would be a ‘return-leg’. If you watched the match, you know already that had English referee; Michael Oliver not awarded a penalty kick at the 97 th minute, then Cristiano Ronaldo would never have got the opportunity to save another spot in subsequent UEFA Champions league matches for this year. But reports reaching us that Medhi Benatia claims the penalty award was partial has become a new round for football gossip. He says to beIN Sports, France;            “I’ve seen it in the match; I’ve seen it on the TV. You can’t whistle for a foul on this kind of action. When you put in that much effort against a great team like this, you can’t have a referee whistling for a penalty like that in the 93 rd minute, because honestly, this is a game which should have ended in extra-time” He goes on to say; ...

Real Madrid plunged against Juventus, and lost, but won at death with a penalty in slaying time.

Image
The 2018  UEFA champions league has seen many great moments, but last night’s blazing tournament between Real Madrid and Juventus was yet another great moment. We thought the Match will end on with a ‘return leg’, considering that for the quarter finals, Real Madrid won Juventus on a ratio of 3:0. It seemed with a 3:0 at the 90th minute that Juventus had executed the best revenge. But Cristiano scored a goal at the 97 th minute by penalty, ensuring that the team qualifies for the next round. If Medhi Benatia didn’t have that clumsy challenge causing English referee; Michael Oliver to award a penalty, Cristiano would never have emerged saviour. But we are glad the marvel remains in our memory. Are you? Let us hear your thoughts in the comment section.

THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2018 WILL FOREVER REMAIN A WORLD MARVEL; WONDERING WHY?

Image
This year’s UEFA chapions league will forever remain a world marvel. Do you agree? I’ll tell you why. We’ve seen wonderful pairings though, from the all-English tie between Liverpool and Manchester City, Barcelona digs it out with Roma, and Bayern Muchen take on Sevilla, but perhaps the Juventus vs Real Madrid meet-up would be amongst the league of most talked about matches forever. Its been  days already, since the said game, yet we can’t help our marvel at Cristiano Ronaldo’s second goal at the sixty-seventh minute. Okay, personally, from the beginning, I felt this match in particular was unfair. The teams were unequally yoked, because the Juventus Team was way weaker than that of Real Madrid. Do you share in our bias? But nevertheless, it was a ninety minutes of pure struggle for both teams... well, with the exception of CR7’s first goal in the first three minutes. Marcelo gave the Real Madrid fans their third goal at the seventy-second minute, with Juventus...

Cristiano Ronaldo Vs Lionel Messi; who is the World’s Best?

Image
The history of Football has seen a lot of iconic rivalries in the past, especially with perfect examples in the likes of Pele and Maradona. But perhaps, modern football is experiencing the greatest iconic rivalry currently in all of its history with the marvels of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. For many of us that know Igbo people, this maybe just as confusing as making a choice between Abacha and Okpa. We will concur that the excellent career of this duo is a startling world phenomenon, with both personalities of Portugal and Argentina descent playing for the Spain Arch-rivals of Real Madrid FC and Barcelona FC. Well, we might just crown Spain the luckiest country in Football history. We are jealous. Many folks argue that Cristiano Ronaldo (CR7) has got a wider fan base than Lionel Messi. Do you agree? I personally believe both players are unarguably spectacular and individual favourites for many are influenced by the club one is a fan of. We are in love with ...
